4. Sound Ripple - Installation Design



While it is clear to perceive dynamics through visual, it is more elusive how we interact through sound. We can show dominance by taking up more space, but we can also achieve a similar effect by raising our voices. In nature, some species also use voice to mark their territories. Despite our awareness of social distancing, often, we seem to overlook the effect voice level plays in interactions.

This project tries to underline the auditory aspect of personal space. The interactive installation takes voice level as inputs and uses water ripples to visualize dialogistic dynamics.
